KAL, is a Home Education (HE) support and information network, set up to support home educating families in Kent and London.
Kal has grown so big, in such a small amount of time, that we are now opening our doors and offering free membership to anyone in the UK and beyond, who may be home educating or maybe you are just considering taking this route or even just express an interest in this area.

WHAT ABOUT THE SOCIAL ISSUES WE HERE YOU CRY?
Many people, believe that children become isolated in their homes, this could not be further from the truth!
Home Educated children actually, for the most, have very good social lives, meeting up on a regular basis and in doing so, tend to build up very strong friendships!
Like their school peers, many HE children, attend other social groups such as, Scouts, Brownies, Dance, Football and many other social events, along with meeting their HE friends and friends they have from home.
KAL HE, has a number of support groups, many on the web and many that take place near you!
We have a regular free newsletter for all our members, giving details of regular events that take place near them.
You may be one of the many thousands of parents, wanting to know more about HE. Maybe as a parent, you did not know that you are allowed to HE your child/children at home.

HE is legal, in all of the UK.
WE are even compiling a list of all the Education Laws in Euroupe and worldwide!
Under section 7 of the Education Act 1996:
Whether your child is HE or in the school system, full or part time, if you believe that education does not stop at the school gates, then KAL HE is for you!
Why not join us and show your support for something that is growing stronger everyday, it cost nothing to be part of something big, such as KAL!
Perhaps you are considering HE as a last resort. Maybe you child/children are having problems in the school system, that cannot be resolved.
BULLYING:
Did you know that Bullying is one of the biggest factors for parents to turn to HE , along with the fact their childs individual needs, are not being met.
Maybe your child/children are still very young and you want to take full responsibility for their education from the beginning.
If you are anxious about making the right decision, then this is where you can speak with others who have been in your postion and know what you are going through.
Whatever your decisions, we welcome you to explore KAL and hope that you enjoy your visit with us. If you have, then why not become a full member of KAL and start making new friends.
We wecome anyone who has an interest in HE, not just those of us who do HE!
We have some great chat rooms, where everyone can express their views, even Teachers, LEA's and of course us parents.
It all about us working together and respecting that eveyrone is entitled to express their views, concerns they may have and of course just maybe, someone needs some advice or a chat.

Learning does not stop at the school gate, learning is something we all do, everyday of our lives!
We have been working hard to change society's views with regard to HE and of course we have much experience in working with the LA's.
Where there is a good LA, we use that to set an example to other LA'S.
Where some families may have had problems, we have worked hard to help them and have achieved and we will continue to do so. We also have contact with other HE groups and keep a list of them. We also have our very own list of contacts, covering different areas of the country, to enable families to make contact is they so wish.
We also keep a list of contacts, who are willing to be interviewed by the press, with regard to HE.
We will continue to build on all the hard work that has been done by other HE and ourselves around the country.
KAL, also has a children's list, where children of all ages, are encouraged to chat with each other along with sharing their Art work, stories,favourite reciepes and share resources and ideas to help make their group better!
Please be aware:
The children's web group is very tightly moderated and is only for KAL's members children only to use!

Should a member of the press use the any of the KAL list, to gain private information then I will make a complaint to the press complaints authority in the first instance!
KAL, takes privacy of discussion on our groups and lists, very seriously.

WE ARE NOT SOLICETORS BUT WE DO KEEP A LIST OF SOLICETORS AROUND THE UK, WHO SPEALISE IN THE EDUCATION ACT, THAT WE CAN CALL ON IF NEED BE.
